  • Circle the Sun

    Heart and soul
I met you at the gallery
    Our time was there
    We wound into the tapestry

    Now each day
    Together we feed the flame
    On solid ground
We’ll circle round the sun again

    We’ll circle round the sun
We’ll circle round the sun again

    Step outside the shadow
Then we'll laugh into the dream
The light on your face shines in us all
    Is everything

    Heart and soul
    We walk along the scenery
    A hand to hold
    Our journey in the galaxy

    Wind around
    The time is ours alone
    I’ll hold you there
A picture perfect path to home

    We’ll circle round the sun
We’ll circle round the sun again

    Step outside the shadow
Then we'll laugh into the dream
The light on your face shines in us all
    Is everything

  • Just Breath

I stare at the waves as they gently roll in
The sand runs away and then pushes back
The past seems like a dream
And time has gone by so quickly
The breeze is gentle across my skin
As I imagine the dark cool water in the distance
It would be easy to swim out
With long strokes as far as I could go

    And just breathe
    And breathe again

But it is just a moment
    A flash from inside
Where do these things come from anyway
It moves away in the waste stream
    Flowing to another place
    Looking for another home
I jump to my feet and run as fast as I can
Into the dark of the night

    And just breathe
    And breathe again

    In the morning I rise
    A new day to begin
I see a bird through the open window
    The freedom to fly away
I feel the heart beating in my chest
To carry me down the road
Running again to find the place
Where we all can reach the sky

  • The Soul Within

As I walk down this concrete path
    I come across a flower
Crushed in the prime of its life
I pick it up and admire the color
And the aroma that it still holds
I place it in my pocket
I can’t bear it to be crushed again
I continue down this wandering path
    And explore its many roads
I see the girl on the street corner
    Screaming at the monsters within
    Which only she can see
There is nothing I can do to comfort her
As she looks at me with eyes of love
There is nothing I can do to help her
    So I turn away

I carry myself along for a while
With sadness and anger and joy and love
And I notice the man in the distance
    Asleep on the ground
Covered in the spirits of the night before
And the night before and many many more
His pain and sadness have given up
They sit next to him on the ground as he sleeps
Waiting to torment him when he wakes again
I arrive at my home tired, weary of this world
I take the crushed flower from my pocket
    And admire the fleeting beauty
I press it between some old pages
That I had also grown to love
There it will live for all of eternity.
A wind blows through an open window
To wrap my breath in the cold air

  • She Ran

She ran across the frozen ground
    could not face the others
    the sky a deep grey
    snow gently fell
she would go to the lake and be alone
no one would mention the mistake
    (or lament in passing)

      In the forest she ran
    the others left behind
    soft whisper of the past
    the shadows and snow
    cover the path

      The burden seemed to great
    frozen in the fragile soul
her gaze fell upon the water
    where she looked upon herself
    something inside
    and life has changed
    the cold wind caressed her
    while she considered the future.

  • Pulsar

    Pulsar waiting
    Dark star fading
    We won't let you down
We are here on the ground

    Pulsar
    Pulsar

    Where are you
    We are waiting
    Patiently
We are here on the ground

    Pulsar
    Pulsar

    Pulsar waiting
    Dark star fading
    We are here
    We won't let you down

    Pulsar
    Pulsar

    Where are you
    We are waiting
    Patiently
We are here on the ground

    Pulsar
    Pulsar

  • Memories

The things we hold on to
    From the past
    The memories
    Of love and pain
    And reminders
    Nothing lasts

    Are the lights still on
    Does the spark still shine
Shall we hold each other in the dark
While we wait for the next time

    A simple object
    And the Neurons fire
    A chemical reaction
And a copy of the memory
    Comes to life

    The joy and laughter
    Love and loss
Can all be felt the same as before
It is a miracle of living I guess
    And also a curse

We stand on the shoulders of the past
Our frailty wrapped in our hearts and minds

  • Circle

The old woman looked at the young man
    She felt she recognized him
    Those eyes that face
    So familiar
The words forming on his lips
She could not believe what he was saying
    "I've been looking for you
    and I've been praying
I used to be your husband
    And you were my wife
We planted seeds at the festival
They grew strong and tested time
Now trees before us are open
To memories, to hope, we unwind".
    What did he mean?
    Could this be true?
She felt that she knew him
    She thought that she knew
So she lay on the ground
In the shade of the tree
    And opened her heart
    Became one became free.

      And life began
    With memory of before
    Before the drought
    Before the war
    In that time within laughter
    And struggle and pain
When the trees were still young
    And required the rain
And the seeds in the pocket
    Were thrown on the land
    At the festival
Where they walked hand in hand
Where the gaze of the aged
    Of the weary old man
    Fell upon the young woman
With a smile of the land
    "I've been looking for you
    and I've been praying
    I once was your wife
    In a time long forgotten
    Before this long life"
    He seemed to remember
With a tear in his eye
And a smile on his lips
And a blue in the sky
    He lay on the ground
In the shade of a tree
    And opened his heart
    Became one became free.

  • Hope

Hope and love provide a path to the future
Pain reminds us of our fragile state
Time winds around us in a way we cannot understand
Joy is a moment of escape
    Balance is necessary to continue
    Excess keeps us alive
Memory reminds us of who we were
Forever reminds us of who we are not.
